Ancient Katyayani Temple in Kashmir re-opens after 22 years

The ancient and historical temple of Mata Katyayani in Village Kakran, District Kulgam, Kashmir, was reopened after 22 years by All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) after reconstructing the four temples within the complex. Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Art of Living representative Shama Sondhi, BJP Mahila Morcha Vice President Meenakshi Lekhi, Kulgam MLA MY Tarigami, and scores of Kashmiri Pandits attended the Purn Ahuti and Murti Sthapana.

The temple which was completely damaged during Militancy was repaired / renovated and re-opened presenting a new look with two Murtis being installed which were gifted by Poojya Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji. It was after a gap of 22 years that the bells rang in the Temple. The local population was enthusiastic to see the Kashmiri Pandits returning to their village temple after 22 years.
