PM Announces Rs 500 crore package for flood hit Assam
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today announced a Rs 500 crore package for flood-hit Assam and said the Centre would take steps to rebuild the infrastructure that had been destroyed. The announcement came after he undertook an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Upper Assam with UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Singh represents Assam in the Rajya Sabha.
