P. Chidambaram was the lawyer for Enron, GE and Bechtel in their
legal battles in the Dabhol Power Corporation cases in between
holding two Ministerial posts. This is the reason he recused
himself from the Group of Ministers (GoM) formed by UPA I
Government in 2004 for salvaging the Dabhol project.
Chidambaram’s clients, Enron, GE and Bechtel were the majority

Enron, Walmart and now GE - American companies have repeatedly
been exposed using money power to buy influence in countries.
American corporate excesses go hand in hand with the American
state’s policy of encouraging economic and political subjugation of

Trial by media is the norm in India where shameless journalists
now wear party tags but shirts dipped in yellow and blood. A pillar
of democracy, journalism just sentenced 13 innocent to life in
jail, if not death.
Ground level, idealist journalists tear their hair in
frustration when reports they send to their offices are doctored
shamelessly to run a political agenda.

The earth is doomed to suffer fanaticism for many more years,
especially that which emanates from the “developed” world. The new

“Lebensraum” is a Latin word meaning “living space”. This word
was intellectualized in modern times on Nazi lines by intellectuals
in Bangladesh when they realized that economic and urban
development in their country would not keep pace with the

Ramachandra Guha is a nitpicking frustrated and blinkered author

At a time when the world is busy combating Islamic fundamentalism
and terrorism and the threats p..

A great piece of art needs a great mind and a great heart behind
it. While it needs to provoke to gain attention, the work itself
needs to have a universal appeal to bring greatness to itself!
Sadly, the movie 'OMG - Oh My God' fails abysmally on these
accounts.
It lacks the philosophical depth or the
technicality of The Matrix or Inception (the..

The law that gives Robert Vadra, an ordinary yet highly
